N.Z. SALVATION ARMY OFFICERS WILL ATTEND HIGH COUNCIL MEETING
REPRESENTATIVES FROM ALL COUNTRIES TO BE CALLED TOGETHER
(United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received November 17, 11.30 am.)' LONDON, November 16. The summoning of the High Council of the Salvation Army as a result of General Booth’s illness is unprecedented. The body is composed of all cbmmissioners and officers of whatever rank commanding territories, and naturally includes representatives from Australia and New Zealand. A high official informed the “Daily Telegraph” that the council is empowered to determine whether the General will be able to discharge the duties of his office, and, if unfit, elect a successor. Therefore any nomination made by tl e General in a sealed envelope automati - ally becomes void. The High Counc 1 was constituted by a deed poll in 190 . The summoning of the council replace i the generalship with a commission until the meeting ot the council is hela. —Australian Press Association.
