BRIDGE PARTY.
Mr Struan Watson, who, for some years has been a student at Canterbury College, is leaving shortly for Sweden. In his honour, last night, Miss May Andrew gave a charming bridge party at her home on Cashmere Hills, the drawing-room being festively decorated for the occasion with Oriental poppies and antirrhinums. Amongst the players, who were thus afforded an opportunity of saying goodbye to Mr Watson under such pleasant fMrmmst.anc.es, were Misses Adrienne Acland, Margaret Stevenson, Margaret Anderson, Molly Black, Kathleen Bristed, Diana Allen, Nancy Gibson, Messrs Bernard Savill, Gavin Turnbull, Terence Miller, Guy Nicoll, John Lockhart, Denis Young and Lewis Black. After supper, Mr Gavin Turnbull, in a happy speech, wished Mr Watson every happiness for the future. Mr Watson suitably responded, and the pleasant evening closed with the singing of “For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow.”
