CANTERBURY WOMEN’S CLUB.
Wide bowls of arum lilies and beautiful roses in crystal bowls decorated the reception room at the Canterbury Women’s Club last night, when a musical evening, arranged by Mrs Stephen Parr, was given to a large and appreciative audience of members and visitors. Mrs Parr, who was also the hostess for the evening, wore a handsome gown of deep green patterned velvet, draped to a long point at one side of the back, and mounted in fawn georgette. A delightful programme was given by the following artists: —Mrs J. E. Russell, pianoforte solos; Mrs Walton, songs and violin solos; Miss Nancy Gard’ner, pianoforte solo; Miss Le Page, elocutionary items; Mrs Stephen Parr, songs; Mr R. Gibson, songs. Mrs Russell and Mrs Storie were the accompanists. Following the programme a delicious supper was served. Mrs R. T. Tosswill moved a vote of thanks to Mrs Parr and the performers for a most enjoyable evening.
