CRICKET.
SUBURBAN ASSOCIATION. The monthly meeting of delegates of the Christchurch Suburban Cricket Association was held last evening, Mr J. Fleming presiding over a-n attendance of thirty delegates. The Sunnyside, Marist and Council /Clubs wrote appointing delegates. Whit combe and Tombs Club were granted the use of a wicket at Linwood Park. The entry of the Technical Old Boys Club was referred to the Competitions Committee. The Canterbury Cricket Umpires* Association invited members to their meeting on Saturday evening. The Competitions Committee reported entries as follow:—Senior, eight teams; Junior A. eight; junior B. ten; third grade, nine; a total of thirty-five teams, and a. decrease of five on last season’s Arrangements made with the Sydenham Club for the preparation of four wickets and practice wickets at Sydenham Park were approved. After considerable discussion regarding the finances it was decided to apply to the New Zealand Suburban Association for permission to hold the Walker Shield tournament at Christchurch this Messrs TL Aris. J. Clarkson, W. Dawson, M. Noonan, L. Sanders, R. Potter a.nd J. Gray were appointed as a subcommittee to arrange details in connection with the tournament. FIXTURES FOR SATURDAY. Following are the fixtures for the opening round of the competitions next Saturday:Senior Grade—Marist v. Shirley, n.t Linwood technical Old Roys v. Working Men’s Club, at Ensor’s Road; Green’s v.
