NEW ZEALAND CLUE. On Monday evening a meeting; of the committee of the Now Zealand Whippet Racing Club was held at Riccarton, the following’ members being present:— Messrs J. R. 1). Johns (chairman), H. J. Fitzsimmons, C. S. Forbes, \V. F. Grenfell, G. Biltcliff. V. J. Drake, A. H. Forbes, M. Robinson and Mrs F. E. Biltcliff (honorary secretary). Apologies for absence were received from Messrs C. W. Hervey and A. J Harper. Twelve new members were elected, and accounts totalling £ISO Os 3d were passed for payment. The question of the licensing of professional trainers was discussed, and the honorary secretary was instructed to apply to the National Association for a supply of license forms. It was reported that some of the dogs were in the habit of turning back after the finish of 3 race. It was unanimously decided that, in the event of any recrudescence of this t.roublo, no entries should be accepted in connection with the particular dogs until the owners could satisfy the stewards that their dogs had been properly schooled. Arrangements were gone into in connection with the New Zealand Cup meeting, which is to be held during November. It was agreed to provide three races, as follows:—New’ Zealand Cup race, for silver cup and £2O prize-money; hurdles handicap, for £5; and secondclass handicap, for £5. A suggestion was made that the New Zealand Cup meeting should be held at the English Park Stadium. A sub-com-mittee, consisting of Messrs J. R. r>. Johns (convener), A. H. Forbes and V. J. Drake, was appointed to go into the matter. The arrangement of a definite date for the New Zealand Cup meeting was held over until a report had been received from the sub-committee. A finance committee, consisting of Messrs A. 11. Forbes. H. J. Fitzsimmons, M. Robinson, V. J. Drake, W. F.
