A large number of motorists used the Mount Pleasant road from the top of Evans Pass yesterday. The road has recently been repaired, and is now solid, if a little coarse, and, with glimpses of Lyttelton Harbour, Sumner, Redcliffs and the plains and Pegasus Bay, provides a delightful run on an easy grade. With the low sun of the afternoon mile upon mile of the streams of the Waimakariri were visible beyond Yaldhurst. Another house was noticed near the top of Mount Pleasant, while the owner of the topmost house, Mr C. E. Claydon, has built a very substantial stone addition to his present residence. The violet gardens and huge beds of spring flowers on the Mount Pleasant side were greatly admired.
