The vestry of St Matthew's Anglican Church, Hastings, passed a resolution protesting against the Church of England Empowering Bill, now before Parliament, being passed until parishes and Diocesan Synods have an opportunity of considering and voting on the measure. The vestry also requests the member for the district to oppose the Bill. A successful concert was given by the Municipal Band in the Liberty Theatre last evening in aid of the Returned Soldiers’ Unemployment Fund. Items were given by Miss Peters's orchestra, and a song was sung by Mr C. Hindle. [The sum 6f £2P5s 5d was taken at the 'doors.
