WEDDINGS.

ANDERSON—BENNETTS. On Wednesday evening, at Trinity Congregational Church, Jean Bennetts (Sydne}o was married to Robert Anderson by the Rev D. Gardner Miller. The church had been decorated with wattle (as a compliment to the bride) and pussy willow by lady members of the choir. The bride, who was escorted by Mrs Gardner Miller, wore a dress of pale pink georgette, with an overskirt forming deep side panels of shadow lace. Her handsome veil was worn with a coronet of orange blossom, and fell in graceful folds to the ground, forming a train. She carried a beautiful shower bouquet of freesias, roses and camelias. Miss Margaret Lorimer was bridesmaid. She ' wore a shot pink taffetas frock, the bodice laced with silver ribbon, and a full skirt over a panel of tulle. She wore a diamante band in her hair, and carried a bouquet to tone with her dress. Peggy Miller was flower girl. Her little frock of green taffetas, with tiers of green and gold frills, was completed with touches of wattle. She also carried a basket filled with wattle and fern. Mr lan Campbell filled the duties of best man. The choral service was considerably enhanced by the beautiful playing of Mr Alec Mill, L.A.8., on the organ. After the ceremony a reception was held at the manse, 313, Madras Street, and the usual toasts were honoured. The happy couple left for the south amid the good wishes of a number of friends. Mrs Robert Anderson wore a frock of- grey marocain, with facings of dull pink, and a hat to tone, and carried a fur coat. READER—JARMAN. The wedding was solemnised recently at St Peter’s Church, Upper Riccarton, of Constance Evel\-n. sixth daughter of Mrs and the late Mr R. Jarman. Upper Riccarton, to Cecil Albert, third son of Mr and Mrs Reader, Sydenham. The bride, who was escorted to the altar by her brother, Mr G. Jarman, wore a long-sleeved frock of white crepe de chine, tastefully beaded, and side panels of silver lace. Her beautiful embroidered veil was held in place by a coronet of orange blossom and pearls, and she carried a shower bouquet. The bridesmaid, Miss Emily Jarman, sister of the bride, wore a shell-pink crepe de chine dress trimmed with silver, and a silver mob cap edged with rosebuds, her bouquet toning with her dr«ss. Mr Roy Reader attended his brother as best man. On leaving the church the bride was presented with two tokens of good luck, a white horseshoe from her nephew, Douglas Brown, and a pink and silver one from the bridegroom’s niece, Patricia Diebert. After the ceremony' a reception was held at the Oddfellows’ Hall, Upper Riccarton, where Mrs Jarman received the guests wearing a frock of navy repp embroidered in varied colours, wth hat to match, and she carried a posy of violets. The bridegroom’s mother chose navy crepe de chine and a black hat. Later in the evening over a hundred guests were entertained, the time passing pleasantly in games, dancing and musical items. Music was supplied by Misses M. Reader and C. Harwood and Mr C. Reader. The bride travelled in a rosewood repp frock, a tailored coat of saxe-blue repp and hat to match.
