He will be taken home and an attempt will be made to patch him up. When Captain Sarto fell in the Aylesbury Steeplechase, lie broke his back and he was destroyed. This ended the career - of a horse who had followed up a useful life as a hurdler by developing into a winner of three minoi steeplechases this winter. . Narrative won the Longbeach Handicap in a very attractive fashion, after being prominent all the way. She has not' done a great deal of racing and is likely to improve. Ivalos ran another solid race in .the Longbeach Handicap, but had to be content with his customary second place. The Aylesbury Steeplechase saw three of the seven starters fall at the top of the straight the first time round. The other four raced in fairly close order for the next round, but Royal Fashon beat the others home with an effort that showed that she is a bettei horse than many people realised. She has been the victim of indifferent riding on occasions.

Samson hi«» third win at the meeting by winning the Styx Hurdles very easily. ll* jumped widely the first day, and after an improved display on Thursday hi; derived still further benefit from to day’s outing. It was a smart performance.
Steel Bar and Lady Gay were noi prominent when they fell in the Styx Hurdles.
Pouri was a strong favourite for the Lincoln Steeplechase, but although he ran a good race for two miles and a half, he was very tired when the straight was reached. Rangi • Sarto gave a fine exhibition of jumping, as did Radiate. Tuki could not concede so much weight to this pair. Pas sin' Through, who tailed off early, fell at the top of the straight. Black Mint always? was favourite for the Ileathcote Handicap, and, ridden more patiently than on Thursday, he won decisively from Kilmiss, who came on the scene with a late run. Town Bank was close up after a good 'race. Gold Mint was in front early, but collapsed on leaching the straight. Historic was a hot favourite, for the Redcliffs Handicap. He w f as not sighted in the earl)’’ stages, bpt : put in his claim on reaching, the straight, and always looked a winner, although he had to be ridden out to beat, off Boys’s challenge. Broadmoor was last away, but he showed a fine burst of speed. It carried him to the front at the end of two furlongs, but he only lasted to the straight.
