CANTERBURY DRIVERS APPLY FOR NEW AWARD.

Discussion was begun this morning at the Conciliation Council, over which Mr W. H. Haggar, Conciliation Commissioner, presided, between members of the Canterbury Drivers’ and Related Trades Union and their employers. The employees filed an application for a new award and the employers filed counter proposals. The assessors for the employees were Messrs T. Lewis and E. Parlane, and for the employers Messrs, G. Dickinson, W. Hayward and W. Cecil Prime. Argument will be continued this afternoon.
