colonial issues IN GOOD DEMAND ON LONDON ’CHANGE. (United Press Assn.—By Electric Tel egraph.—Copy right.) (Received May 21, 9.15 a.m.) LONDON, May 19. In gilt-edged business is quiet, but prices are well-maintained, a good effect being produced by the news of the five per cent war loan and the funding loan to be made on trustee stocks in the United States.
There has been a good demand for recent colonial issues, on which satisfactory premiums have been established. The latest issue is the Kenya Government’s £3,500,000 loan of 4£ per cent, at £95. This has been most favourably received and was over-sub-scribed immediately the prospectus was issued. It is now quoted at a small premium.—Australian Press Association.
