EVELYN BRENT IN LEADING ROLE AT QUEEN’S THEATRE.

An exceptionally fine programme of entertainment is presented at the Queen's Theatre this week. The first feature, ‘‘Forbidden Cargo.” is a thrilling drama, with the story woven round the fight of the American Government with the daring rum-runners. Evelyn Brent and Robert Ellis have the leading roles. One of the essentials for the success of an Irish picture is that it shall maintain the national reputation for wit, while another is that the tenderness of heart of the Irish people shall be portrayed. These two elements are contained in “ Mother Machree.” Much credit is due to Belle Bennett in the role of Ellen M'Hugh, the Mother Machree of the picture. She gives a finished, dramatic portrayal. Phillipe He Lacy plays the part of Brian M’Hugh. and Eulalie Jenson has the role of his sweetheart.
