BOWLING.

CHRISTCHURCH CLUB HAS ANNUAL MEETING. The fifty-third annual meeting of the Christchurch Bowling Club was held last night, when Mr F. D. Sargent presided. The annual report, which was adopted, said that the membership of the club stood at 79. The finances were fairly satisfactory. In moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, Mr Sargent said that the green had been greatly improved during the season and was expected to be better than any green in Christchurch next season. The reports of the match, greens and greens improvement committees were adopted The election of officers resulted as follows: President, Mr J. E. Purchas; vicepresidents, Messrs G. Cooper and S. F. Barnett; honorary secretary, Mr A. Dickson; honorary treasurer, Mr C. J. Atkinson; directors, Messrs F. D. Sargent, I. Woolf, A. Dickson and Dr J. P. Whetter; selection committee, Messrs I. Woolf and S. F. Barnett; delegate to centre. Mr A. Dickson; honorary auditor, Mr T. Newburgh. Prizes were presented by Mr Sargent to the following: Champion Rinks—Messrs W. Sherris, S. Manning, Dr L. S. Manning and Mr G. B. Wright (skip). Champion Doubles—Mr Atkinson and Dr Pairman. Champion Singles—Mr I. Woolf. Helliwell Cup, Mr C. Maddren. Junior Cup—Mr W. Sherris.

Struthers Doubles—Messrs J. E. Purchas and F. D. Sargent.

Progressive Doubles—Messrs G. 11. Cooper and G. A. Mazev. Mr Sargent moved that the incoming directors be recommended to consider the revision of the rules of the club. The motion was carried. It was unanimously decided to place on record the club's appreciation of the Summer Time Bill. A sub-committee consisting of Dr C. S. Orchard and Messrs G. Rutherford, A. Wallace and G. A. Mazey was appointed to rearrange honours boards and pictures in the pavilion. It was decided to leave the selection of a club badge to the directors.
