FOOTBALL.

SENIOR RUGBY GAMES WILL BE WELL FOUGHT. Saturday’s matches at Lancaster Park should be the most evenly contested series of games played this year. What must undoubtedly be regarded as one of the features of this season’s Rugby will be the meeting of Merivale and Christchurch on the Oval. Present indications point to one of the best displays seen there for many a day. The play should be fast, brilliant and exciting. Both teams are reported to be in excellent form. The splendid performance put up by Christchurch last Saturday against Old Boys shows that they have struck top form and will undoubtedly prove formidable opponents of Merivale. With only half a point separating them in the struggle for championship honours, the game should be one of exceptional merit. On the South Ground, Albion and Old Boys will try conclusions and here also a bright snappy game s'hould be seen. Technical will meet Linwood on the West Ground, and in view of Technical’s present form, Linwood will be kept fully extended. At the Show Grounds, the Senior B matches, Merivale A v. Sydenham and Christchurch v. Albion, will be played. In both of these, patrons should see particularly bright displays, with fast, open play. OLD COLLEGIANS’ CLUB. Senior 13 v.
