(Special to the 14 Star.") AUCKLAND, May 17. A Chinaman named Charlie Lee, found guilty of defrauding fellow countrymexi by falsely representing that he could obtain extensions of their permits to stay in this country, was sentenced by Mr Justice Macgregor to three months’ imprisonment on each of feur charges, to be concurrent. His Honor said that it was obvious that the Chinese had been brought to work here in some irregular way, which he was at a loss to understand.
