WARRANT ISSUED FOR ARREST OF ACCUSED.

A warrant for the arrest of John Blake Keenan was issued by Mr C. R. Orr-Walker. S.M.. in the Magistrate's Court to-day, on the application of Chief-Detective Carroll. A charge against Keenan of having stolen, on February 2, a trotting sulky and harness, valued at £l2. the property of Samuel Bennett, was read in Court to-day. Mr Batchelor, who appeared for accused, said that the latter had been admitted to bail in his own recognisance. He had either absconded from bail or had forgotten the date on which he was supposed to appear at Court.

The Chief-Detective stated that accused had not reported to the Detective Office since coining to Christchurch on May 14. The speaker applied for a warrant for arrest.
