TELEPHONED TO FRIEND THAT HE « WAS GOING WEST.” Robert Dorrans, a middle-aged man, widower, was found dead yesterday afternoon, in a. room at 90. Salisbury Street, where he was boarding. Dorrans had been off work for a few days, and was very depressed. Four empty medicine bottles were found among flowers in the front garden. Shortly after 3 pjn. yesterday, Mr Dorrans rang a friend and said: “I am going West. Thank you for all you have done for me.” He then rang off. The friend got another ring about twenty minutes later, when the lodging-house-keeper informed him that Dorrans had locked himself in his room and was taking poison. He hurried to the house and met Dorrans at the bathroom door. Dorrans drank a glass of water and walked into the bedroom and fell on the~bed. The friend thought he was shamming, but the man died shortly after.
