ORIENTAL SALE.
A sale of Oriental and other goods was held yesterday at St Paul’s Sunday School Hall, and attracted a large gathering of people. The sale was opened by the Rev W. Bower Black, who explained the object the money was being raised for, and after congratulating the stallholders on their excellent display of goods, he wished them every success in their effort. Airs Brownlee, president of the Women’s Presbyterian Association, also spoke. The Oriental goods on sale were most attractive, and were in a wide variety. The profits made on these goods will be given to the building fund for the bungalow in India for Presbyterian missionaries, and the money from the other stalls .will be to augment the mission funds. During the afternoon an excellent programme of music was contributed, and Bennett’s Orchestra supplied the musical programme in the evening. The stalls and stallholders were:— Produce—Mrs S. Kruse and helpers. Flowers —Airs E. S. Jones, Airs Alexander. Airs Hampton, Mrs Butterfield, Mrs Brownlee and Mrs Cull. Oriental stall—Misses Campbell (2). Airs J. 11. Upton, Airs P. Hal crow. Miss Salmond, Airs Ilawker and Mrs Shaw. Sweets —Airs M"Kay, Airs M’Donald, Miss M’Gregor and Bible Class girls. Linen handkerchiefs—Mrs C. Clark. Handkerchief and tra3*cloths —Airs J. Askew, Mrs D. Robinson and helpers. Lace and work —Airs J. Dickson, Mrs A. Kidd, Airs 11. Wiseley and Airs D. Hyde. Luncheon sets - Miss E. A. Scott, Airs Rountree, Mrs S. P. Briggs, Airs Roxburgh and helpers. Cakes—Airs Watt. Airs J. Willis, Airs G. Burn. Airs G. Ferguson, Airs A. B. Oalder, Mrs Herbert Gresham, Airs F. Wilson and helpers. Brass and novelties—Mrs H. R. Hamilton, Mrs Irwin and helpers. Cashier—Mrs G. Whitelaw. Afternoon tea—Mrs T. M’Gibbon and helpers. _
