ASSOCIATION.
MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. The executive or the Canterbury Football Association met last night' present—Messrs C. H. Bascand* (in the chair), W. E. Leadley, J. Jennings, J. A Robb, H. Smyth, J. Stout, W. H. Jackson, C. E. Keyes, R. M’Lachlan, G. Burgess, W. Wardell. E. E. Lancaster. F. Bennett, W. Anderson, W. Duncan and R. B. Bunt (secretary). Mr Leadley reported that a deputation waited on the head master of the West Christchurch District High School in regard to the playing of the association game in the school. The head master said that, with its small roll, the school required all its boys to make a decent showing in Rugby. At present there was no chance of getting the game into the school, but hopes for the future were bright. It would be necessary for the C.F.A. to wait on the School Committee. Mr Bunt, who represented the association at the New Zealand Football Association’s annua] meeting, gave his report. ‘‘There was very little of a positive nature done,” he said. “The general desire seemed to be to stifle anv discussion on the losses on the Canadian tour. There were only three outside representatives, South Auckland, Westlan£ - and Canterbury. The rest were Wellington residents, and all seemed an ™L ous to eet back to their businesses.” The report was adopted and a vote of thanks passed to Mr Bunt for his services. It was decided to send a letter of sympathy to Mr P. Mitchell, a referee f" h « ,!, nJ 2 ry ' whlch will keep him off the field for a month. The Westland Football Association wrote regretting that it could not plav Canterbury on June 4, as it had already pranged to meet Wellington on that In answer to a circular letter to head masters, Mr G. Lancaster, head master of the Boys’ High School, wrote stating that no teams would be entered in the secondary schools competition, and that no names would be submitted for registration with the C.F.A. A deputation, consisting of Messrs Bascand, English, Leadley, Burgess and Bunt, was appointed to wait on Mr Lancaster. Messrs Burgess, Smyth and E. J. Norman were appointed as a selection committee. It was decided to postpone all other games on the day of the Charity Cup game, May 19. y DRAW FOR SATURDAY. low?:!_ draW f ° r Saturday i s as foI . SUS3B.
