K. MolThomson, R. H. North, C. S. M Cully, A. E. Flower, J. J. Dunne, W Britten, R. W. Britton, W. Maxwell, A. Duggan E V Phillips, A. Barrett and Dr W. S. Seed. The A. C. Triggs) in the Albion-Technical third grade match on April 21, wrote stating that the score as given by him was correct. The match was, as declared, a draw, 18 points The letter was adopted and a copy '"’I 1 } be forwarded to the Albion Club, which had. at the previous meeting, protested against the referee’s ruling as to the score, claiming that Albion had won 18-15. The North Canterbury Sub-Union entered a challenge to the Hurunul SubUnion for the Southbridge Shield. The New Brighton under eighteen team is to be transferred to the under seventeen grade. All the players bar one (who is dropping out), are under seventeen, and the transfer will mean that the present bye In the under seventeen grade will be obviated. Messrs Wilson, Flower and Seed were appointed a sub-committee t 6 meet the Grounds Committee of the Board of Control at Lancaster Park to discuss the matter of directing the crowds into the seating accommodation. JUBILEE NEXT YEAR. On July 26, 1929, the Canterbury Rugby Union will celebrate the fiftieth year of its existence. At last night’s meeting of the Management Committee the preliminary arrangements for th e celebrations were made. The chairman reported on behalf of the committee which had been set up for the purpose of going into the question of suitably celebrating the union’s jubilee. The committee had decided:— “ That the date of the jubilee of the Canterbury Rugby Union is July 29, 1929, and it recommends that the union make every effort to celebrate the jubilee in a fitting manner. “ That any funds derived from celebrations should be ear-marked for a permanent memorial of the jubilee. “ That owing to the strong support received from country players in the early days of Rugby special attention should be given to present day country players during the celebrations, and that the country unions be represented on the jubilee committee. “ That in view of the fact that the Canterbury Rugby Union had its origin in Tiraaru an endeavour be made to invite representatives of the South Canterbury Rugby Union to our celebrations. “ That a jubilee church parade bs held on Sunday, July 28, 1929. “ That the co-operation of the ladles is desired. "That in order to keep sustained interest, the jubilee celebrations be held at intervals over August and September, 1329. " That efforts be made to collect old photographs and have them re-taken if necessary for the C.R.U.’s own records. " That the special official function be held on Jubilee Day, July 26, 1929. “ That we make a special list of prominent old officials of Rugby in this province and that invitations be sent to them. " That the committee expresses its appreciation of the fact that an official history of Rugby in Canterbury is tr t*e compiled by Mr W. G. Garrard.” The. report was adopted.
