(Special to the “ Star.") AUCKLAND. May 2. The Prime Minister has wired to the Auckland Labour M.P.’s, in answer to their representations regarding the finding of employment, that the Government, since the middle of February. has placed 435 men on relief works in the Auckland district, and that arrangements are being made to find work to absorb an additional 400 men as soon as possible. When the contractors commence operations in connection with the new railway station, the position should be considerably eased, says Mr Coates.
