THREE MORE ARRESTS MADE IN CONNECTION WITH FORGERY CASE.

10,000 SPURIOUS £5 NOTES FOUND. (Unltad Press Anon.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Received May 2, 1.30 p.m.) MELBOURNE, May 2. Three additional arrests have been made following the seizure of 10,000 spurious £5 notes. John Howarth, of Geelong, a contractor, Ralph Miller, of Geelong, a farmer, and Benjamin Thomas, of Geelong, a tailor, were charged. Bail was allowed.—Australian Press Association.

The police effected the biggest and most sensational coup for years when they raided a suspected house at Ocean Grove, near Geelong, on Saturday, and discovered a complete engraving plant and 10,000 counterfeit £5 notes. A man and a young woman, Stephen Kara sickwick, a process engraver, and Sima Marchenko, were arrested. When the police broke into the house Karasickwick was working on a printing machine, with a loaded gun beside him, but he did not attempt to use it. Thhouse is situated in a remote part, in thick scrub, and the police forced an entry, completely surprising the inmates. The raid is the outcome of police investigations regarding the circulation of forged £lO notes at recent Melbourne and Sydney race meetings.
