SIR G. LOCKHART TO PAY £SO FINE.
FOUND INTOXICATED WHILE IN MOTOR-CAR
(Special to the “Star"). AUCKLAND, May 2. Sir Graeme Lockhart (baronet), for being intoxicated while in charge of a motor-car, had his license cancelled to-day for twelve months and was fined £SO, with the alternative of three months’ imprisonment. Accused, who had been bailed out overnight, did not appear. The (Mr Hunt) asked the reason, and stated that he might send him to gaol. Counsel (Mr R. A. Singer) stated that accused was at his office, and he (counsel) did not mean to be disrespectful. Mr Hunt observed that this was the second time this week that a man had broken the terms of bail by failure to appear at Court.
