AUSTRALIAN CLIP RETURNED £67,000,000 DURING PAST YEAR. (United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegrapn.—Copyright.) (Received May 1, 10 a.m.) SYDNEY, May 1. An official review of the Australian wool clip for the past year shows that the gross return was £67,000.000. The estimate of the National Wool Council that 2,250,000 bales would be received into store has been confirmed. This is 250,000 bales fewer than the preceding year, while the wool showed a shrinkage of 5 per cent weight. The. trend of prices, however, was consistently upwards. Values for merino wools throughout the season were generally 10 to 15 per cent above* the preceding year.
