The “Financial News” publishes news of a rumoured offer by a powerful financial syndicate to the Imperial Government for the purchase of Empire cable and wireless services. Australian delegates to the wireless and cables conference emphatically deny that any such proposal is within the knowledge of the conference. Mr Walter Baker (Labour) will ask Mr Baldwin in the House of Commons on Tuesday whether he has received an offer to purchase the whole of the means of Imperial communications.— Australian Press Association.
