WERE NEVER PART OF EMPIRE AND DO NOT WISH TO BE.

EGYPTIAN PREMIER EXPLAINS VIEWPOINT.

(United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) BERLIN, April 28. The Cairo correspondent of the “ Vossische Zeitung ” interviewed Nahas Pasha, the Egyptian Premier, who said: “Britain has no right to interfere with the independence which we already enjoy. Our standpoint simply is that we were never part of the British Empire and have no wish to be. We have, the best intentions towards Britain, but we will not sacrifice the independence of Egypt to Britain’s Imperialistic tendencies. “ We cannot accept the treaty as proposed by Britain, becau.se it is founded on an entirely fal.se basis as between mistress and servant. The only possible treaty is one of equals.”—Austral ian Press Association—United Service.

BILL EXPOSES LIVES OF BRITISH TO DANGER

CAIRO, April 28. After a speech by Nahas Pasha a meeting of Wafd members of Parliament endorsed the Government’s policy regarding the Assemblies Bill, which is expected to pass early next week.
