CANADIANS DISCUSS IMMIGRATION POLICY. (United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. (Received April 26. 10.30 a.m.) OTTAWA, April 25. More executive efficiency and greater administrative latitude under experienced executives at higher salaries was urged by Mr Beatty, president of the Canadian Pacific Railway, before the Immigration Committee.
Mr Beatty favoured land settlement, but considered that the present efforts were not bringing adequate results. He endorsed training in Britain, and said that eight in ten of Canada’s 9 500,000 population were of British origin.—Australian Press Association.
