ENGLISH RACING. GREAT METROPOLITAN STAKES. LONDON, April 24. At the Epsom spring meeting the Great Metropolitan Stakes, a handicap run over two miles and a quarter, was won by the five-vear-old Alacrity (Achtoi-Allie), with Bamboula second and Shah 111. third. A Hamilton Press Association message says that the poppy fund collections totalled £268 10s, a record for Hamilton, and believed to be a record for the Dominion in proportion to population.
