With the realisation that the youth of a nation is its greatest asset., the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Y.M.C.A. and the Auxiliary of the Boys' Gordon Hall have rallied their forces for a special appeal, which was made in the streets of Christchurch to-day. Each succeeding year adds to the prestige gained by the work of the Y.M.C.A. during the war, and that the success and welfare of the association are desired by the country was shown by the financial assistance received to-day from the public. Willing helpers, directed from the headquarters at the Y.M.C.A., devoted their energies to assisting in every capacity, and street collectors were kept busy at all corners /of the city selling their badges bearing the Red Triangle.
