GARDEN PARTY.

Under ideal weather conditions a garden party was held at the residence of Mrs J. E. Garland, Cumnor Terrace, Hillsborough, on Saturday afternoon, in aid of the Woolston Plunket Society (sub-branch). The garden with its fine trees and flowering shrubs, attracted a large number of visitors, and, both socially and financially, the day proved to be a successful one.

Stalls, laden with a variety of articles for sale, were erected on the lawn in the shade of the trees, and the stallholders were kept busy with a large number of customers. The stalls and stallholders were:—Variety. Mrs Miskell; produce, Mrs Lingard and Mrs Major; cakes, Mrs Moncriess and Mrs Adkins; afternoon tea, Barwick and Mrs Allen ;• sweets, Clark; ice cream Mr R. Allen. ’
