FINAL GAMES IN PENNANT COMPETITION. Conditions were perfect this afternoon for the concluding matches in the Christchurch Bowling Centre’s Manning Cup inter-club pennant competition. Play took place on the Sydenham Club’s green, which was in excellent order. Mr J. D. Colville officiated as umpire. The competition was inaugurated In 1920, and has been won by the following clubs:— 1920-21—Linw-ood. 1 921-22 Sumner. J 922-23—Canterbury. 1 923-24 Edgeware. 1 924-25 Sumner. 1 925-26—Edgeware. 1 926-27—Canterbury. The handsome challenge cup, which Is held by the winning club was presented to the centre by Air S. Manning two years ago. The original pennant is also held by the successful club. In the semi-final Canterbury B had an easy victory over United H, winning all three games. The contest between St Albans G and Llnwood B was more even. Angas (St Albans) beat Sprosen (Llnwood) by 22 points to 13, and Benzie (Llnwood) beat Wicks (St Albans) by a similar score.
