“UP IN MABEL’S ROOM” STILL GETS LAUGHS AT THEATRE.

Large audiences assemble nightly to witness W. J. C. Barr's Comedians in their screamingly funny efforts to extricate themselves from the troubles they encounter “Up in Mabel's Room.’ This comedy proved a success with the Christchurch theatre-going public when presented in picture form. The stage version as presented nightly at the Theatre Royal has an additional appeal. It creates roars of laughter for two hours and a half each night, will be continued until the end of

the week. On Saturday next “Oh! Richard! How Could You?” another farcical comedy, will be presented by Barr's Comedians. When produced in Sydney,* the Press described it as “one long laugh.” It tells of the difficulties a young and wealthy bachelor gets into through having, proposed to four girls at the same time. Mr Billy OTlanlon. who has scored such a sue cess in "Up in Mabel's Room,” is the foolish youth with the amorous dis position. He is aided in the fun-mak-ing by Mr A. Brandon Fremer, who plays the part of Dick Ross, a friend ever anxious to help, but whose efforts only create worse chaos in the hilarious tangle. Miss Zara Clinton is seen as a French vamp. The box plan is at The Bristol' Piano Company.
