MUST BE GOOD TO HIS MOTHER, MR MOSLEY SAYS.
NINETEEN-YEAR-OLD THIEF GETS PROBATION. When Ronald Rossmore Walker, aged nineteen, convicted on two charges of theft, stepped from the dock at the Magistrate’s Court this morning, he did so with thp understanding that he is to be good to his mother. Walker came up for sentence on charges of (1) stealing goods valued at £2, the property of the Ellesmere and Greenpark Dairy Company; (2) stealing goods valued at 17s 6d, the property of Alexander Strothers. “As far as it goes, the Probation Officer’s report is favourable to this young man,” said the Magistrate (Mr Mosley). Accused was placed on probation for twelve months, a special condition being that he should live at home. “And you are to be good to her,” said the Magistrate. “Understand?”
