SHERLOCK HOLMES MYSTERY AT LIBERTY.
■ The greatest detective ol fictionSherlock Holmes—comes Lo life on the screen at Liberty Theatre this week in a drama that is of an extremely mysterious nature, and which bears the title “ 1 lie Sign of Foup." The production comes from the Stoll Studios. The players arc all, even including the supers, ’ first-class actors, who interpret the story in a manner just as the author intended. At the head of the cast is Ellie Norwood as Sherlock Holmes. IsObel Elsom takes the principal female The inimitable Dr Watson, boon companion of Holmes, is played by Arthur-Guilin. A rodeo, with all its thrills and horsemanship, finds a pro mmerit place in “ Painted Ponies.” the second offering. The principal figure is Moot Gibson, who is as usual at the top of his form. The Liberty Concert Orchestra, under the conductorship of Mr Ernest Jamieson, are well up to their usual standard.
