There was an exciting sale of old books at Sdtherby’s, when Dr Rosenback, of Philadelphia, wirelessly telephoned his bids. The bidding for two volumes started at £SOO, but the Trans-Atlantic voice went on imperturbably until the volumes were secured at £3OOO, when he rang off.
