Times—smin 11 2-ssecs, smin 15 3-ssecs. smin 11 4-ssecs. NOTES ON THE EVENTS. (Special to the “Star.”) AUCKLAND, June 22. In the Manukau Handicap, backers started off by making the Mangereowned Reremai a £230 better favourite than Daytime. Mars was third fancy, and there was good money for Admiral Lock and Loch Moigh. The favourite, although on the limit, was not ’well placed in the first half-mile. Amaris was first to turn for home, but, halfway down the running, Reremai came along with a good run and won by a neck from Loch Moigh, who finished well, with Daytime two lengths away. Amaris was fourth, three-quarters of a length away, followed by Dillon 1 luon, Uncle Bert, and Master Huia. Uramic and Delavan Bill lost a lot of ground at the start and practically took no part in the race. In the Royal Handicap the public went for Seann Triubhais, making him about a £3O better favourite than Appeal, with Great Change an 4 Tamerlane next in request. The little-fancied Floraline was soon in front and stayed there. FMoraline increased his advantage along the back, his nearest attendants being Appeal, Direct Action, Peter Boy, Nourmahal and Miss Lcda. Floraline had no trouble in going on to win by seven lengths from Appeal, who beat Peter Boy by five lengths. Seann Triubhais was half a length away, fourth, followed by Direct Action and Tamerlane. For the Prince of Wales Handicap, the principal event, Machine Gun was the favourite, carrying about £3BO more than Imprint, while Terence Dillon and Harold Thorpe were the next best backed. Harold Thorpe, the early leader, was still in charge when they came around again. Imprint, Terence Dillon. Western King, Napland, Machine Gun, Peter Bingen, Nelson Fame and Jewel Pointer were next in that order. Harold Thorpe held his position along the back and across the top, and was followed by Terence Dillon and Imprint, who were together, followed by Nelson Fame. The order was the same into the straight, and Harold Thorpe went on to win by two lengths from Imprint, who beat TerI ence Dillon by a similar distance. Peterwah was fourth, followed by Billy .Sea, Peter Bingen. Napland, Nelson Fame. Jewel Pointer, Holly Boy and Machine Gun. Western King and Countryman were pulled up. HAWKE'S BAY HUNT CLUB RACES. Per Tress Association. HASTINGS, June 22. The Ilawke’s Bay Hunt Club meeting opened to-day in overcast weather. There was a good attendance. The course was heavy. ANNUAL REPORT AND BALANCE SHEET. The committee of tho New Brighton Trotting Club, in presenting the accounts for the past year, is able to congratulate members on the satisfactory state of the club’s finances, the year’s operations showing a. profit of £4OO. after deducting £375 for depreciation. Considerable standing arcommodailon has been erected for inside and outside patrons, and although a larger sum has been expended on stand and other accommodation of later years, the committee has not increased the admission fees, adhering to the popular charge of one shilling to the outside enclosure. The club was fortunate in securing Government and public reeogniUua for holding a lioyal meeting; dur-

ing the visit of the Duke of York, and it was attended by his Jloyal Highness, who expressed himself as delighted with the entertainment provided for him, and specially thanked the club’s president. The meeting was acclaimed by all a complete success from every standpoint. During the year the club sustained a loss through the death of Air W. IT. Young. There being no other nominations, Air J. Johns has been elected president. Air IT. C. Harley vice-president, and Air E. H. James treasurer. The nominations for committee and stewards not being in excess of the number required, there will be no election.

A sum of £SOO was placed on deposit, and the year closed with a cash credit of £268 14s fid. The assets include land £2830, buildings £8773, plant £358, furniture £227, deposit £SOO. cash in hand £268 14s sd, a total of £12.956 14s sd, while the club has no liabilities.
