FLASHES FROM WELLINGTON.

(Special to the “ Star.”) WELLINGTON, June 22. Tackling the Problem. The civic league with the hearty support of the Mayor, who is at his wit’s end with regard to the unemployment problem, proposes to set up a community fund. It resolved to appeal to the general body of citizens to do all they can individually and through various societies to further two objects:—(l) To push forward any small works by which deserving men may be employed ; (2) That everyone who is in employment should contribute some portion of his means towards the establishment of a community fund which will go towards finding employment for an additional number of men.
