FASHION’S NOTE BOOK.

Crochet hats are not Mi ye: here; but the new supple straws k*e extraordinarily like crochet. One is still permitted to cut s.'its in felt hats and interlace therein coloured ribbon or velvet. Or strips of otherhued felt. Lizard and snake-skin are as fashionable as ever; possibly more so. As trimmings, they invade all provinces of the wardrobe. And in chaussure they are supreme. The yoke is demanded by the modish coat for its back; there is no undue fullness, for such can be disposed of easily with the aid of flat pleats. A most useful purchase, if not already secured, is a coatee of crepe de chine that is reversible and easily laundered. A remnant acquired at a sale might perhaps serve in this direction. These coats are so smart, so i useful, and last well. ; f

EXPRESSION.

Charm of expression counts greatly j in beauty and can be patiently culti- ; rated. If you have an unattractive little frown between the eyebrows, j massage it away with a rotary move- j ment of one finger-tip every time you j see it in the mirror. And discover, also before the glass, what thoughts or I memories banish it naturally, and try to fill your mind with these every time your brows draw together. Primly pursed or dismally downdrawn mouths spoil many faces. A clever doctor psychologist gives this advice: Each morning on rising square your shoulders, draw a deep breath, and deliberately smile your sweetest at your own reflection in the glass. This daily “ Morning Beam,” as he calls it, I will relax your mouth into sweet, soft I

lines, and make you begin each da cheerfully. Teeth play a great part in charm expression, for they affect the state i health (and consequently the spirit the shape of the mouth, and the beau of your smile. When you feel . pressed, run and brush your teet; they'll look so white then you’ll want to smile to display them! Save all your beauty allowance to get decayed or broken teeth put right: you’ll get more good looks from a fee than from _any number of cosmetics.
