CLEANING CANDLESTICKS.
Do you go in for those rather jolly pottery candlesticks—the sort one generally brings back from a Continental holiday, or the many country towns where they make a special feature of local pottery? Have you tried to clean them when the candle wax drips over them? To plunge them in to hot water is very often fatal—the ware cracks, or possibly breaks. It’s also dangerous to try chipping off the set wax. ’l’ve found that if such articles arc placed (on a paper) in a warmish oven, the door being left open, or on the hearth, till the wax is thoroughly soft, this can be wiped off easily with tissue or other soft paper, leaving the pottery perfectly clean and ready for use again.
Personally I should always clean tin or enamel candlesticks in the same w^y
