WEDDING.

CHAMBE RS—SLATE R. A wedding was celebrated at All Saints’ Church, Sumner, last Wednescls.y, when Bertha Slater, the younger daughter of Mr and Mrs W. Slater, of Bury Street, was married to Richard Sinclair Chambers, of Marlborough. The church was tastefully decorated by friends of the bride. The bride was given away by her father. She wore a dainty frock of white georgette with passamento trimming embroidered in silver. The coronet was of orange blossoms from which hung a beautifully embroidered veil. She also carried a lovely shower bouquet of white roses and chrysanthemums, and the palest pink primulas. The bridesmaid, Miss Doris Slater, the bride’s sister, wore a beautiful frock of mauve georgette with passamento trimming and posy at the waist. She carried a shower bouquet of pale pink and mauve irises. The groomsman was Mr Ernest Selwyn Long, and the officiating clergyman was the vicar, the Rev E. C. W. Powell. Mr 11. Kingsbury, the organist, played the Wedding March at the conclusion of the service. The reception was held at the Cadena Tea Rooms, where Mrs Slater, the bride’s mother, received her guests in a black silk marocain frock and pretty hat to tone. Owing to the illness of the bridegroom's mother Mr and Mrs Chambers were both absent. The presents included a tea service and tray from the staff of the Y.M.C.A.. a silver cake dish from the directors, and a set of carvers from the residents ox the Y.M.C.A., where the bride was a member of the office staff. The bride ‘left with her husband for Marlborough, attired in a very smart looking travelling costume.
