AMERICAN VISITOR PLEASED WITH CITY.
HE SENDS GIFT TO CANTERBURY MUSEUM. Mr W. W. Click, of Texas, when he visited New Zealand was so delighted with Christchurch (which he describes as a very beautiful city), and also with Canterbury Museum, that he has sent to the Museum a present, to be added to the geological collection. It is a selection of calcitc crystals from New Mexico. Two large Maori adzes from Alford Forest, Canterbury, have been presented by Mr A. J. Grigg, Richmond Terrace, and Mrs Rolleston has presented moa bones and fifty specimens of New Zealand timbers. The scheme for exhibiting New Zea land insects in the Museum has advanced so far that the first cabinet of them will be placed in the New Zealand Room in a few days.
