AMUSING COMEDY HEADS BILL AT CRYSTAL PALACE.
DOUGLAS MACLEAN IN “HOLD THAT LION.”
"Hold that Dion.” like other comedies in which Mr Douglas Mac Lean has sparkled, is clever, genuine, and wholesome. Tt may be impossible, but that has nothing to do with the case. There are few comedies that are not impossible. Some of the best of them are utterly impossible. In many instances. the greater the impossibility the higher the standard. Mr Mac Lean In "Hold That Lion” is a big-game hunter, a big-game hunter of the same type as Tartarin of Tarascon. The second big picture, “Forever After.” is a mixture of drama and comedy. One element tempers the other, like sunshine in a shower. The "Gazette” at Crystal .Palace always is interesting and informative, and the comeßy pure and simple is full of real fun. The Symphony Orchestra has a particularly attractive musical programme, ranging from some of the best work of some of the be§t composers, to the lighter pieces that arc in popular favour.
