T ROU LAN D—COMM E R E R. A wedding took place at the Catholic Cathedral on Wednesday morning, the contracting couple being Elma, the youngest daughter of Mrs Comn\crer, of Greymouth, and William John, the youngest son of Mrs Troulatid and the late Mr R. Trouland, of Greymouthi The ceremony was performed by thd Rev Father Timanv. The bride, who was given away by Mr Hopkins, of Greymouth, wore a shell-pink crepe de chine frock, beautifully embroidered, and hat, shoes and stockings to tone. The bridesmaid, Miss Joy Hopkins, was attired in dove grey crepe de chine, and hat en suits. After the ceremony the wedding reception was held at Ballantyne’s tea room. Later the happy couple left by car for Timaru, the bride wearing an ensemble suit of fuchsia shade, witli hat to tone. NEWTON—NELSON. Hydrangea in soft tones of pink and blue, intermingled with asparagus fern, decorated St Matthew’s Church yesterda 7. when the wedding was celebrated of Dorothy, fifth daughter of Mr T. Nelson and the late Mrs Nelson, Christchurch, and Charles Douglas, eldest son of Mr and Mrs C. W. Newton, of Akaroa. Canon Staples Hamilton performed the ceremony, and Mr Robert Lake presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of ivory georgette, fashioned with a long pouched bodice, and the skirt of lace had long wide panels of georgette looped under the hem. Her beautifully embroidered t eil was arranged from a coronet of orange blossoms, and she carried a shower bouquet of white and pink roses. Miss Marjorie Nelson, who attended her sister as bridesmaid, wore a dainty frock of primrose-yellow georgette, the front panel being fineiv pintucked and the skirt hem was of fine gold lace. The gold lace also formed the sleeve cuffs. Her hat of black crinoline straw had narrow bands of primrose velvet round the crown, and a large rose to tone at one side of the brim, and her bouquet was of gold roses and fern, with gold ribbon streamers. Two little flower girls, Molly Wood and Fay Nelson, nieces of the bride, wore frocks of jade green georgette, tucked at the yoke with medallions of silver lace on the hem, and wreaths of silver leaves finished with a tulle bow on their hair. Each maid carried a Victorian posy. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Douglas C. Colville.

A reception was held later at the Winter Garden, where the tables were decorated with pink and mauve flowers and fern. Miss M. Nelson, the hostess for the afternoon, received the guests wearing an attractive frock of navyblue georgette, made with a circular skirt, a wide band of gold and blue leaves at the waist, and a black crinoline straw hat with a lace bow at one side. Her bouquet was of gold roses. When the bride left for her wedding tour she wore a navy-blue crepe de chine frock made with a front panel of floral crepe de chine, a smartlv tailored navy repp cloth coat and a beige novelty. straw hat.
