GIANT SUBMARINE LAUNCHED BY ITALY.
By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Aus. and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received February 23, 10.30 a.m.) ROME, February 22. Italy’s latest 1400-ton submarine BalilLa was launched at Spezia. It is the first, in the world that is capable ot submerging 300 feet and travelling at a speed of nineteen knots on the surface and ten knots submerged. It has six torpedo tubes and 4400 horse-power.
