trentham notes. (Special to the 'Star.'’) ELLINGTON, Janpafy 18. A heavy fog almost completely blotted out proceedings at Trentham this morning. Only one or two gallops could be timed, but trainers, rather than wait for the fog to lift and run the horses in the heat, dispensed with timing. Hynanna and Star Ranger on the tan jumped away at the mile post and reached the winning post in lmin 45 2-ssec, finishing practically on terms It was a good effort as the track was not by any means fast. Tanadees did a solid two rounds on the tan. Ycsperup, who looks well, worked round the tan and sprinted home. Laughing Prince. Exhibition and Wild Pigeon sprinted down from the five furlong barrier on the course proper. Nadari.no finished in front of Grand Knight at the end of five furlongs on the tan. Centrepiece, brought home by Serot'na, did the last seven furlongs of a mile in lmin 34sec. Aston and Battle Colours finished On terms well clear of Hymill at the end of seven furlongs on the course proper in lmin 33sec. Outfit, on the tan, ran seven furlongs in lmin 31$sec. Panther and Chips sprinted on the tan. i Rapine and Star Stranger, on the tan, | after covering the first furlong in I43sec, | ran to the mile post in lmin 48sec. R. [ Reed rode Rapine and C. Browne Star ; Stranger. Reed will probably ride Star i Stranger in the Cup. I Ardfinnan finished a mile on the tan ■ in lmin 49sec. Footfall, on the course proper, ran seven furlongs in lmin 35sec, going 1 well. | Ballymoy 11. did a solid round, sprint* ling home. Paperchase set out at half pace at the six furlong post, but was galloping at top when sighted at the winning post. ; Axle went over three hurdles in his i usual free style. i Vexatious, after being stubborn at j first, did a similar task. I Kilmezzo and Black Mint, in clear ' atmosphere, ran six furlongs on the tan, the former pleasing most. The time was lmin 21 3-ssec. T. J. Jamieson had High Finance, Ti Tree, Dimmer and Ring the Bell on the track, but they did nothing strenuous. W. Raynor gave Lysander, Mask, Deluge and Thaw light work. F. Lind was out with Civility and C. M Kay with Alaric and Cawnpore. Baby Bun and Stormy arc other arrivals.
