AMATEUR GOLFERS FOR MATCHES IN SYDNEY.
(Special to the “Stay.”) WELLINGTON. January' IS. At a special monthly meeting of the Golf Council yesterday the finance showed a balance of £719. Programmes will be circulated about the end of the week, of the professionals’ autumn championship, at Rotorua, on March 9, 10 and 11. Details were discussed in connection with the Kirk-Wtndeyer Cup report received from Australia, showing that the competition had been approved by the New South Wales Association. Teams will consist of four amateurs, and the first competition will be at Sydney in June, about the time of the New South Wales State championships. It was resolved to pay actual expenses of four members of the team, and to ask clubs to nominate any member of a national handicap of fire or under who would be willing to go. Nominations are to be in by the end of March. The team will be selected by the council in April. The Rangltikei Golf Club at Bulla was eelcted a member of the association.
