SECTION PLAY FOR BOWLERS NEARS END.

SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIP IS CONTINUED. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, January 18. The weather was dull and warm when play was resumed in the pair* competition on the various city and suburban greens this morning. The last. two rounds of tlie section play were commenced and the section ties are to be played this afternoon. Where sections have been won outright the two section winners will play off to find the green winners. Only winners go forward to the post-section play, which will be on the “sudden death” principle. The draw for the singles, which are to be resumed this afternoon is:— A. C. Maclntyre (two lives) plays Norrie Bell (one life). M. Walker (one life) plays A, Smellie (one life). H. Clarke (one life) plays C. Maher (one life). These games will be grot off as the players mentioned become available.
