MAN ASKED TO LEAVE BROADCAST STUDIO.
During a broadcast debate between Professor Julian Huxley and Mr Cecil Lewis at the studios of the 8.8. C. on November 20. an unfortunate incident occurred.
Th# subject debated was “Is Science Good for the World?” and Professor Huxley, in developing his argument in favour of science, made a reference to religion. Apparently this incensed a man who was standing with a little knot of people in the room.
“It is disgraceful,” he interrupted. “It ought not to be allowed.” Transmission was temporarily stopped, and the interrupter was requested to leave the studio, which he did after making further protests. Commander E. Hilton Young, who was acting as chairman, said the interruption was quite unjustified.
