ECONOMY TO BE KEYNOTE OF NEW LORD MAYOR’S POLICY IN SYDNEY.

Alderman Mostyn, the new Lord Mayor of Sydney, addressing heads of City Council departments, plainly told them that whatever their civic or political connections, they must carry out the determined policy of the council or leave the service. Economy was the keynote of his policy. He was determined that they must live within the council’s income, so that an increase of rates would not be necessary.
