'i he Canterbury Park Trotting Club’s meeting will be commenced at Addington to-morrow and concluded on Monday. The first race each day jv.ill be •tarted at 11.30 a.m. * * * * The pacers, Reta and Pretty Pointer, have arrived at Addington from Waimate, to fulfil engagements at the f'anterbury Park Trotting Club’s meeting. * * * * The Oamaru trainer, J. Henderson, has two speedy pacers. Brentloc and Final M’Kinnev, engaged at the Canterbury Park Trotting Club’s meeting. They are a very useful pair, and both in good form at present. * * * * Some of the Canterbury trotting enthusiasts who went north for the Auckland Trotting Club’s meeting, were expected to leave for home. last, night, and they will be hack in time for the opening of the Canterbury Park Trotting Club’s meeting to-morrow: Other trainers, who decided to remain for the conclusion of the Auckland fixture, will arrive home on Sunday, and they will be on hand for the second day’s racing at Addington. + * * * A fine performance was registered by Great Bingen in the Penrose Handicap at the Auckland Trotting Club's meeting. Starting from the 4Syds mark, Great Bingen was conceding starts to some of the most brilliant performeis in the Dominion. Pacing in his best ftyle. he gradually overhauled the leading division, and finishing with a great burst of speed, won by half a length from Talaro. -who started from the 12 yards mark The winner established a. course tecofd for the distance. The time recorded for the mile and a quarter was 2min 40 3-ssee, which is only 2-sse< slower than the Dominion record for the distance, established by _-Minton Derby.
Acceptances for the second day of the Canterbury Park Trotting. Club's meeting will. close at nine o’clock tomorrow night. Handicaps will be posted at the club's office at 7.30 p.m. * * * St There is material for some great racing at the Canterbury Park Trotting Club’s meeting, which will be commenced at Addington to-morrow. The fields on the first day are very strong, both in numbers and in quality. * * 4c * Canterbury horses put up a great record at the Auckland Trotting Club's meeting yesterday. The strong contingent when went from here for the big northern fixture has made its presence felt and will probably get a lot. more money to-day. when the meeting will be concluded.
